Springfield has had another successful year in the development and membership of the Club. With the challenges facing the committee and all who are associated with Springfield, that is always good to hear. Naturally none of that can occur without an immense amount of effort and personal sacrifice by so many people who are part of the Springfield family.
The committee and the various leaders, without whom the Club would simply not function, must be complimented on their diligence and commitment.
Paul Stewart as Chairman has done so much in so many different ways to move the Club along, to keep up with the changing circumstances and the financial costs that are so difficult to sustain. Sir Jackie Stewart has been a caring President for more than 30 years and it’s wonderful that Springfield has become so closely linked with his family. During the last two years, the Club has been blessed by Lewis Hamilton attending its annual prize giving evening. This brilliant new Formula 1 driver has become a great British hero in sport and I am told that Lewis’s attendance at the last two annual functions has been enormously appreciated by everyone who has been there. As Patron of Springfield, I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for being so conscientious and caring.
I wish Springfield continued success in its quest to help young people to build their confidence.
